Message from HOD

MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT

Dr. C.P. Singh Bhati

In the present times, Yoga is widely popular outside the country also, but its real essence is somewhat absent as it is being pursued as a physical activity, whereas, the practice of Yoga is much more than that. The interpretations and application of yoga in the society is irregular, leading to problems, where the doer intended to find solutions. The disciple is promoted by various sections in different light even leading to the extent of breaking it into parts and following a philosophy of pick and choose which is harmful in many ways.

The department focuses on preparing able leaders in the field of Yoga who can provide appropriate understanding of this ancient art of healthy living. This objective is fulfilled by exposing the students to intensive and extensive schedule of the programme with deep comprehension on the aspects of yoga theory and practical.

The extensive programme enriches the knowledgebase of the student, as well as, gives ample opportunities to them for practical work. The laboratory with necessary equipment is open to all students and staff for research. The adequately furnished library lets the students use it for referencing. Internship programme included in the programme gives them an opportunity to face the real life challenges. Every student is given opportunity to undertake the research projects and are given full support from the department. The Department apart from the academic endeavor also caters to the health and fitness issues of the citizens of greater Gwalior
